Hi Everyone! We are into summer full swing… I love the sunny, hot weather…. livin’ in tank tops, shorts, sandals, and wearing my hair on top of my head! Okay, I do like to dress up so you may catch me in cute little sundresses too. I’m definitely a South Florida girl!  Hopefully you are enjoying your summer where ever you reside and taking advantage of the warmth to participate in some fun outdoor activities.

IFBB Houston Pro Fitness

My first show of the season is just a memory now… some very good memories I might add!  While every show I prepare for has its challenges, some shows really test your limits, both physically and emotionally. This was one of those shows, the Houston Pro.  Between injuries and “drama” I honestly did not know if I was going to make it on that stage.  I am blessed to have the unwavering support of my family.

I do have to say that if it weren’t for my friends that made the trip with me, I literally would not have been in Houston as a competitor. I am so grateful to my friends Michelle, Alicia and Jodi for helping me “show up” on game day! Their belief in me is what gave me the strength to fight through the obstacles and persevere. Their support is truly overwhelming and heartfelt. 

Time and time again I standby my statement that contest prep is my competition, standing on stage with my fellow athletes and entertaining the crowd is my trophy!  It makes it even more rewarding knowing all that I went through.  The girls and I shared so many laughs and have memories that I’m sure will be with us forever. One other person I must mention is Shawn Hearing, my miraculous massage therapist who honestly worked just as hard as I did doing everything he could to get me on that stage! Bethany exudes confidence as she carries herself so eloquently and effortlessly.  She attributes her self confidence to making it a priority of leading a healthy lifestyle; which includes hitting the gym and eating healthy!  Bethany explains that she feels so “empowered” when she is on top of her training regimen which directly affects her success as a business woman.  She truly is an inspiration for us women, reminding us if we first take care of ourselves, success is bound to happen.
