Fit Tid Bits

Don’t drink water, drink ice cold water. While training it is best to drink cold water instead of water at room temperature. It is less likely to upset your stomach because it moves quicker through your digestive tract. Also your body burns calories by warming ice cold water during digestion. How cool is that?

Avoid chewing gum while exercising.  Proper breathing is essential during training to facilitate optimal oxygen traveling to your muscles. Chewing gum inhibits this process.

Eat more frequently.  Digesting your food has a metabolic cost. Your body will burn more calories in a day when you eat smaller, more frequent meals as opposed to fewer, larger meals, EVEN if the calories consumed are the same.

Weight train to burn more calories.  Aerobics will burn calories but as soon as you step off your treadmill or walk out of your aerobics class, you stop burning calories. Weight training keeps your metabolism higher and you continue to burn calories long after your training has ended. Yes you can burn more calories sitting around doing nothing by utilizing weight training instead of aerobics. Hear that Cardio Queens?!

Build Muscle. Adding muscle will permanently increase your metabolism. By adding muscle to your frame you will not only reshape your body, but also boost your metabolism and burn more calories. Women, pay attention this is crucial for your weight loss success. Weight training, not hours of cardio is the key to fat loss and creating a sexy body! And NO you will not look like a man!
