Healthy Chicken Pita Pizza *Kid Friendly
Makes 1 Serving
Ingredients:
¼ cup chopped red and green peppers
1, 6-inch whole wheat or multigrain pita
1 tsp olive oil
½ cup tomato sauce or your favorite spaghetti sauce
½ cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
1 cooked chicken breast, finely diced or sliced
1 small tomato, sliced
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees F
- Cook peppers in a pan and set aside
- Place pita on a baking sheet and spread with olive oil, then tomato sauce
- Sprinkle shredded cheese over the sauce
- Top with cooked chicken, peppers and sliced tomatoes
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes then serve
Note: Experiment with other healthy toppings such as: mushrooms, chopped broccoli and sun-dried tomatoes.
